Collection: Berlin coming soon

Berlin is a two-piece collection and collaboration, inspired by Margaret Atwood’s classic The Handmaid’s Tale (1985). Specifically, Aunt Lydia’s famous quote:

There is more than one kind of freedom, said Aunt Lydia. Freedom to and freedom from. In the days of anarchy, it was freedom to. Now you are being given freedom from. Don’t underrate it’.

The name Berlin came from a lecture by the liberal philosopher, Isaiah Berlin, ‘The Two Concepts of Liberty’ in 1958, which is the foundations of this concept of freedom to and freedom from in this classic.

Did you think it was just a gratuitous image of an ample cleavage?

Collaborating artist, Juliet Wilkinson (add link).
